It’s been a productive, fun few months of baking. My daughter turned 6 and requested Anna & Elsa cakes for her party, as well as Shopkins cupcakes to celebrate with her classmates. Melting snowmen cookies were for my daughters Christmas party at school. Lots of fun designing and coming up with ways to make the ideas in my head come to life :).
Anna & Elsa:
Cotton candy flavored cake (made with cotton candy jello powder) with cotton candy icing (recipe here). Used my daughters Barbie dolls wrapped in cling wrap, inserted into the cakes and covered in fondant to create their dresses.
Shopkins cupcakes:
To make these cute Shopkins icing cupcake toppers, print the Shopkins designs of your choice to use as stencils. Covered the stencil with wax paper & use Royal Icing for piping and flooding of each design, and of course real sprinkles for the donut :). Found this youtube video for flood icing cookies that I got tips from, especially the part about making the eyes first, allow to dry a while, then flood around them; very helpful!
Melting Snowmen cookies:
sugar cookies with white flood icing, M&M buttons, marshmallow head, & chocolate sprinkle arms; delicious!
SNEAK PEAK! Coming soon…. Dr. Seuss baby shower cake
and a 3D Teapot baby shower cake
so stay tuned!
