The very first cake I made for either of my kids, was for my daughters 1st birthday. Upon seeing her completed cake, she exclaimed “mi mou”(aka “Mickey Mouse”) & that made my day. She knew who it was supposed to be & she loved it. That reaction was exactly why I made it.
For this cake collaboration with my Mom, Mickey was formed entirely with Rice Krispy Treats then covered in fondant, as was the #1 he is holding. They were then set onto the cake. It was our first time making a 3D shape using fondant and RKT and I was pretty proud of the outcome.
