My daughter absolutely loved watching the old Tom & Jerry cartoons (still does) and decided that’s what she wanted for her 4th birthday. Since we had her party at Chuck E Cheese, I just made a cake and cupcakes (since the cake was so small) to bring with us, as everything else was provided. When you think of Tom & Jerry, what usually comes to mind? Tom is always chasing Jerry. So it was only natural that I make a cake depicting this. This kitchen chase seen was imagined and carried out, by having the requested neopolitan (chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry) cake “table” set upon a box that was covered in fondant squares to give the appearance of a kitchen tile floor. I then placed a small, battery powered train, under the box and attached Tom and Jerry, on wires, to two of the train cars so that they would appear to be chasing each other around the kitchen table (once the train was turned out and it was racing around the tracks out of sight under the box).
The step-by-step instructions for this cake are coming soon. If you would like the instructions now, please contact me, and I will get them to you as soon as I can.
